For years, I worked behind the scenes in Hollywood—crafting the impossible with pixels, explosions, and digital wizardry. As a visual effects artist on major feature films, I helped bring epic battles and fantastical worlds to life. But there was always one dream I hadn’t touched: creating my own film or documentary. Not just any film, but one that blended my passion for storytelling with music. That dream? A documentary about my real-life adventures with Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters.

Why Dave Grohl?

Because honestly—who else? Dave Grohl, the legendary Foo Fighters frontman, former Nirvana drummer, and one of the most genuine souls in rock and roll, has always been a creative force I deeply admired. He’s worn more hats than most: guitarist, drummer, singer, producer, and now, a film collaborator (yep, still can’t believe I get to say that).

When people ask me, what instruments does Dave Grohl play? I usually just laugh—because the better question might be: What can’t he play?

Capturing Rock & Real Life

The film, soon to be live HERE, weaves my own creative transformation with backstage moments, road memories, and intimate stories shared with Grohl and the band. It touches on projects like Dave Grohl’s book The Storyteller, where he went into intricate detail about all the wild adventures he’s had since childhood. Or his intense love for collaboration—seen in bands like Probot, Them Crooked Vultures, and collabs with Queens of the Stone Age.

Behind the Music

Ever wondered, Did Dave Grohl play all instruments on the first Foo Fighters album?  The answer is yes—and that DIY spirit deeply influenced how I approached my own project. I handled the writing, producing, directing and just about everything else.  Thank god my dear friend Sean stepped in to be my cinematography and consultant!

A Personal Note

This journey has been lifechanging. It reminded me that it’s never too late to create something personal. That stepping away from blockbusters to chase a personal dream is worth it. And that sometimes, your heroes turn out to be just as kind, humble, and inspiring as you always hoped they would be.

Final Thoughts

I definitely feel Dave Grohl is a symbol of what’s possible when passion meets persistence. My film captures that spirit, and I invite you to come along for the ride (when it’s done). For now, check out this snippet.

🎬 Let's rock.
